development fund Development Fund and New Website

Foyle and Londonderry College will be moving to a newly built school in the near future. To this end, the Governors have resolved to raise money to allow the school to enhance its facilities by launching a Development Fund. We have also set up a new website to keep you up-to date on the latest developments, which also provides all the latest plans and 3d rendered videos, to give you  an idea of the scale of the new school build.

Virtual Learning Environment

Foyle and Londonderry College VLE can be accessed from home the URL www.vle.foylenet.org.uk your logon details will remain the same. The virtual learning environment offered by the school, helps the student relate better to the ICT environment.

Library

The library has a new service so that students are able to submit reviews of books they have read, so they can rate the books and provide information for other students and staff. IMG_0531webCongratulations to the following pupils from Foyle & Londonderry College who successfully took part in the Project Egg Factor 2010. Their task was to construct a device that would transport an egg across a chasm 2 meters wide. Each team won the Chasm Crossing Endeavour Award. They all received a range of goodies and certificates from Young Engineers and Team 1 received a money prize of £200 for their school.

Clooney base transferred to Foyle College PDF Print

foylecollegerenderedThe £35m plan for two new schools on the site of a former Army base in Londonderry has been revealed.The Development Minister, Margaret Ritchie, and the Education Minister, Caitriona Ruane, formally transferred the lands in Derry on Thursday. Work on the new Foyle and Londonderry College and Ebrington Primary School at the former Clooney base is not scheduled to begin until 2011/12.
